Shirley Reed, a Charter Member of our Society, passed away Sunday evening, March 15th.

Shirley Ann Reed, 72, of 67 Llewellyn Road, Minersville, passed away Sunday at her residence.

Born in Pottsville, Aug. 10, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Katherine Brennan Jones.

She was a member of First English Baptist Church, Minersville, and a past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 367, Minersville Historical Society and Schuylkill Valley Past Matron and Patron Association.

She was preceded in death by a son, Robert; brothers, Harry and Daniel Jones; sisters, Millie Smallwood, Anna Mae Guyeski, Geraldine Weachock and Mary Ross.

Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Franklin Reed; daughters, Donna Barnetsky, Pottsville, and Darla Fabiani, West West Terrace; a son, Frank Reed, Kent, Wash.; a sister, Ruby Lilley, Lemoyne; a brother, Bill Jones, Pitman; four grandchildren, Thomas Reed, Seth Barnetsky and Alicia and Melissa Fabiani.

Religious services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday from Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville, with the Rev. Robert Santucci officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 7 a.m. until the time of services Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mount Peace Cemetery.
